Help & Firearm FAQ

What is Arms of America, LLC?

Arms of America, LLC is a business operating out of Colorado that is proud to claim the distinction of being 100% owned by US military veterans.   Both partners have considerable business experience with firearms, and recognize the importance of supporting 2nd Amendment principles.  We source and purchase the highest quality military firearms, parts, ammunition, tools and supplies available in order to offer them to our customers.  One look through our website will tell you that we are serious about AK parts kits and associated hardware!

Arms of America maintains our "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau, and is a Federally licensed importer and exporter.  Our success is due to our efforts to provide you with the best purchasing experience possible, and our on-going commitment to excellent customer service.  In fact, a large portion of our sales come from referrals from satisfied customers, and repeat purchases by those who have received an excellent firearm at a very affordable price.

How can I get one of your AK Parts kits built into a complete rifle and how much will it cost?

For customers that see a Military AK style rifle kit we offer and would like to have it built up you can go the easy route and contact one of the many AK Builders online in the US that offer build services. We would be glad to recommend a handful of places as well that we know will stand behind their work. The cost to build an AK rifle can vary drastically from $200 range to much more depending on the services needed and the level of experience of the builder. Often times it might seem like a particular builder is more expensive than others but you can easily check reviews and research resale value of previous builds on Gunbroker type sites for a better explanation. Or you can join a number of free excellent online communities for AK Building resources if you wish to build the kit from home.

What parts are required to build an AK kit?

In order to build one of our parts kits you will need to order a receiver for starters. We offer 80% receiver blanks imported from Poland that do not require an FFL. You will still need to drill the holes (we offer the AK-Builder blank drilling Jig), spot weld the rails, and heat treat the unit. We also offer AK flats and bending tools which will require the rails to be welded in after the receiver is formed. We offer professionally built 100% receivers that are already complete which must ship to an FFL for a background check. You will also need to purchase rivets or screws depending on the method you plan for assembly. The ATF also requires you use a certain number of US parts when building our parts kits which is very easy to accomplish. You can google 922r to read about this or we can tell you most builders use a US trigger group which counts as 3 parts, US receiver, US barrel, and US Muzzle device or pistol grip for the last part. Obviously we can not provide legal advice, but we can easily provide you with the information you need to build a fully compliant rifle if you have questions on this. The simple way to look at 922r is that you need 6 US made parts. The law says no more than 10 import parts and an AK that accepts a screw on muzzle attachment has 16 countable parts. If it has no threads then it only has 15 countable parts. So the math is easy now 16-10=6 or 15-10=5.

Where do the parts you offer come from?

Our customers demand authentic mil-spec high quality parts that are priced reasonable. With the exception of WBP in Poland who is the only Small Arms Factory we deal with that produces new AK components overseas. The majority of our parts kits are 100% imported surplus rifles from Military depots from around the world that are being sold off throughout Europe. Considering these rifles are still in high demand and the preferred choice for many Military’s overseas we constantly deal with fluctuating prices on surplus items.

Purchasing a Firearm or 100% Receiver?

All firearms and 100% receivers must ship to a Federal Firearms Licensee for a transfer. You will simply order the firearm and pay the receiving FFL Licensee for performing the background check. If you need help locating a FFL you can use one of many free online search engines such as Gunbrokers FFL finder. Or you can simply call or email us at Sales@armsofamerica.com and we would be glad to locate one for you. You do not need an FFL to order a parts kit, 80% pre-bent receiver blank, or the receiver flats we sell.

Who can legally purchase the AK kits and other various firearm parts kits you offer?

Regardless of the fact that we are not aware of a single incident resulting from our AK parts and firearms kits being used in a crime. A lot of liberal leaning States such as California for example are currently trying to ban the sale of parts kits to limit individuals from building a complete firearm from home. Unfortunately at some point in the future we will probably have to restrict a lot of these items from certain States. But at this time we are still able to ship all of our parts kits to anywhere inside of the USA with some small modifications. We do remove some small full auto trigger components not necessary for building the firearm in semi auto legal format from several states such as WA, CA, NY, and MA for both liability reasons and to protect the customer. It is up to you to make sure you are compliant with all local laws when it comes to building a firearm kit since currently many States are putting special requirements in place and some are outright banning customers from exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.

Do you report or share my information?

We do not track serial #’s on non FFL items, share customer data without a subpoena, or sell our customers information under any circumstance. We are fully licensed and follow all Federal and or State laws at all times and we wish for all of our customers to be responsible and do the same to protect our 2nd Amendment rights from further harm.

Who purchases AK kits and why would I want to?

Our customers are law abiding citizens and Federal Licensed Manufactures that purchase our parts to collect a piece of history, repair/replacement of existing firearms, and or build a new firearm from an authentic Military parts kit. The majority of our parts kits were produced during the Cold War era and cost was not an issue during production so its often hard to find a new rifle of the same quality of our surplus kits. Hence many builders from large to small manufactures along with individual home builders will purchase our kits to be built into complete firearms.
