Good for Bulgarian AKS-74 kits, not so much others
At $50, this is a good AK receiver with a lot of bang for the buck. However, there are some considerations:
The 7.62 Morrissey receiver is compatible with WBP parts kits because they are both AKM spec, HOWEVER this 5.45 Morrissey receiver is NOT compatible with WBP 5.45 or 5.56 kits because the Morrissey are Bulgarian AK74 spec but the WBP 5.45/5.56 kits are a proprietary WBP spec. The WBP trunnions are 1mm longer than AK74 trunnions, which means your trigger guard/mag release/mag well needs to be set back 1mm as well. If you don't weld the trigger guard rivet holes and re-drill them 1mm back, your mags will fit extremely tightly (plastic mags will break from this) or not at all, and that's after filing material off the rear of the mag well. So make sure you use this with true 74-spec parts, not WBP.
Also note that the folding stock cutouts are for 6 degree angle stocks (Bulgarian AKS-74 spec with 4.5mm pin), NOT 4 degree angle stocks (Russian AK-74M spec with 5.5mm pin), so if you install a 5.5mm pin rear trunnion it will be functional but it will not lockup 100% correctly.
Also note that this receiver has a blued finish. Military AKs are usually parkerized and then painted over with black paint, so you'll need to do that if you want the finish to match your other parts or look clone correct. There are no safety selector detents so those need to be added as well if you want an accurate clone.
Other than that, I like this receiver and think it's well-made, no rust, damage, or excess wear that I can see after a year of owning it. And it's cheap too! I'll recommend it, but only if you're specifically building a Bulgarian a
