Original Russian Izhmash side slab steel 30 round surplus AK-47 magazine.

The original AK magazine, manufactured in the Izhmash Machine Plant for Type 1-3 AK-47 rifles between 1948-1954. Remains the toughest AK mag you will find, made of 1.5mm thick steel, they are thicker and heavier than your average .75mm stamped magazines. A must have for any collector, but also good enough for serious hard use, and should fit any standard double stack AK-47 or AKM.

These mags are still coated in cosmoline and appear to be NOS condition. All slabsides had rack numbers or some other identifying number electro penciled into one of the sides. These mags often have various proofs or inspection stamps.

*For Magazine Capacity Restricted States: unfortunately we CANNOT limit this mag to 10rds with our pinning service, so these mags are unable to be shipped to any state where 30rd mags are banned. Orders containing this mag and shipping to a ban state are subject to refund of just the mags in question, or cancellation of the order, depending on what the order contains.

    Rugged isn't quite sufficient

I managed to buy a couple of these old slabside mags back when they were sub $15. They are rugged beyond belief and could potentially be used as a hand held weapon when empty. They feed reliably and as far as I know, mine still have their original 75 year old springs! Downside? Man, they are heavy! Oh and for giggles I ran one of mine with spring pulled from a Tapco mag.........and the thing worked fine....gotta love the AK!
