The FB Beryl .556 rifle was designed by the Team at Fabryka Broni / FB Radom to replace their aging  AKM 7.62x39mm and Tantal 5.45x39mm. With Poland joining the NATO alliance in 1999 they wanted to modernize and use NATO compatible .556 ammo. In the event of war in Europe Polish forces could utilize rounds supplied by other NATO partners.

The current  import Beryl .556 M1 Rifle is a US Civilian legal semi auto sporting rifle. They are perfect for having fun at the range or home defense applications. Beautiful fit and finish with original Polish FB Factory markings will make this a great addition to your collection and increase in value.  FB Radom is known throughout the word for producing unique firearms for military and sporting applications. Currently FB supply’s the Grot rifle to the Polish Military and conducts firearms exports to other friendly countries.

*US 922R parts will consist of pistol grip, buttstock, US Fire control group, Muzzle brake.
**Does not include aftermarket parts shown in slide 11. We do not install parts added to order, parts within an order will ship to FFL with the firearm.

Muzzle Device Selection

We are now able to offer the choice between the normal threaded US Beryl Style Brake that we have been using on your choice of thread pitch, or installing an original Polish FB Radom Beryl Brake, which must be pressed and pinned onto the barrel.

Installation of this device requires us to turn down the barrel in order for the brake to fit, then we drill the two pin holes and pin the brake to the barrel. The additional price covers the FB muzzle device and the work needed for installation. PLEASE NOTE: If you choose this then it would be very difficult to change your muzzle device in the future.
Do not choose this if you are also wanting the front end conversion pin & weld!!!

Left Side Selector

Now offering the option to install the Beryl left side selector!
Military rifles have a "key hole" shaped safety hole which makes it simple to install and remove the left side selector:

We are installing this lever without any permanent modification to the rifle. It is assembled by removing a roll pin that links the outside lever to the inside post. We then assembe the two parts with the post inside the receiver, and re-insert the roll pin. This will mean you must also disassemble the selector if you want to disassemble your fire control group.

Price includes the cost of the safety and work to install. We add the correct detent notches (makes a "click" when flipping the lever) and add the selector markings. NOTE: This lever does scratch the paint like a right side lever, so we do NOT make any guarantees or warranty the cosmetic appearence of paint or scratches around this part!

*Please be aware that this selector will be cosmetic only in a semi-auto rifle, as it is meant to be operated with a military Beryl full auto fire control group. The function of this selector on a military rifle is to switch fire modes between semi-auto, burst, or full auto. The right side safety selector operates between "safe" and "fire." The left and right levers perform two different functions, so do not expect this to work like a "thumb safety lever".

Pin and Weld to 16.25" barrel length is now an option!
This service involves pulling the barrel, cut, crown, and thread, reinstall barrel, and finally pin + weld muzzle brake so the barrel measures a little over 16" total. We will touch up the affected areas with our standard black Duracoat, but FB paint is prone to scratching so this service may result in other areas of the rifle having minor paint scratches/chips.
NOTE: We can use a customer supplied muzzle device, or sell you any muzzle device that we carry for this work upon request. Swapping parts for a gas block combo is also possible, either customer supplied or sold from us.

FFL INSTRUCTIONS:

    Buy now while they're available!

I wanted a military copy of an AK and have watched numerous videos from Mishaco, Admin Results, Klayco among others. It is a VERY nice AK and I highly recommend getting one while they are still in stock. Fit and finish are fantastic, reliability is great, and the Polish certainly knew how to update an older platform. Highly recommend!

    Beryl 5.56

The Beryl is absolutely exquisite. It has the nicest fit and finish of any AK I've ever seen. Truly is a beautiful and unique piece of Polish art. And I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Having said that, my front sight was canted to the left 4°. Not a huge deal as canted sights are fairly common with AKs, however it disappoints me that it passed QC when the Poles are known for their great attention to detail on these fine machines. Nonetheless, still an amazing, high quality, rifle that will probably out live me.

    Wanted a Beryl for years!

Posted by Jon on Oct 29th 2024

For starters I'm a CA resident. So thank you AOA for working with us behind the Iron Curtain of CA to offer compliant rifles to our states infringements.

Took about 3 weeks from ordering to ship (Due to their stated backlog when I purchased) shipping was quick and packaged nicely.

Fit and finish was great, I know Ak finishes are notorious for not holding up even during ship/handle but I see no scratches or blemishes upon delivery.

I've already got an Archer rail, and Beryl grip on it, controls are easy to reach, love the modern safety lever, need to put one on my Arsenal now.

Can't say anything about shooting yet as I just picked it up. Will update my review if needed after a good amount of rounds through it, but based on other reviews over the years I don't expect a negative experience.

Thanks AOA for being my main AK store for almost 10 years now!

Awesome service, awesome turnaround, awesome firearm!

Posted by T. Wood on Jul 28th 2023

The firearm is great! I've yet to shoot it due to budget constraints, but everything from the finish to the fitment is perfect! I'm very grateful to have one, and I cannot wait to shoot it! Also, big thanks to Arms of America for answering all of my questions regarding the firearm and taking great care to ensure this purchase is worthwhile! My only complaint is that I wish there was an option to have the in-house gunsmith replace the FIME Fire Control Group with the original Polish one once it lands here in the States, but I don't know if that's allowed or not - it's nothing a local gunsmith or even yourself can't do, but it'd definitely save on time and effort.

This is the nicest, highest quality built stamped receiver AK platform rifle I have ever purchased and received. The fit and finish is superb. The actual function is clean and smooth and I only expect it to get better the more it cycles. I would highly recommend this rifle.

    5.56 Beryl

Nice rifle with good fit and machining. One complaint I have though is the paint on mine initially looked good, but appears a either soft or thin. It has already lost flakes in a few places after one light range trip (150 rds). Areas of wear seem to be under the safety lever (not just the single standard scratch, but several), along the edge of the receiver where the dustcover contacts, and on the dustcover behind the ejection port where brass has impacted upon ejection. I have a WBP Jack that I have fired quite a bit more, and it has not even worn in the standard safety scratch yet.

Overall, it is a very well built gun with excellent fitment. It is a lot of fun to shoot, but I really wish the paint held up better.

Side note: when it arrived at my FFL, the chamber flag was hidden, folded up inside the bore. No idea how that happened, just be sure to check for an obstruction before firing.
