Rare Russian Spinestamp early 7.62x39 magazines. These came after the slab side and back stamp magazines, and were produced from the late 50's to early 60's. The Izhmash stamp was moved to the spine on this generation.
Izhmash reportedly switched to a baked-on enamel finish on its AKs shortly before production of the AKM model began in 1959. The followers on these early Izhmash ribbed mags will have a large pill shaped bulge with a hole through its front left side. This bulge does not extend to the rear of the follower.
Eventually, the Izhmash factory mark was moved to the spine, and this version is generally referred to as the “Early Izhmash Spine-Stamped Mag.” This was followed by a new follower with a longer thinner bulge on it that extends to the back of the follower. The hole through the front left side of the earlier follower’s bulge was also eliminated. The hole’s purpose seems to have been the prevention of a stuck follower from suction in a heavily greased mag, but this had apparently been deemed unnecessary.
These are in incredible condition for their age. Many are new old surplus and even the good to very good condition grade magazines are great! Add these to your collection at a fraction of the price these normally sell for. These are not only collectible, but one of the highest quality steel magazines you can purchase for shooting your AK rifle.

Sweet Russian Goodness
Yeah, good stuff. I got two, both were in great shape. Expensive? Yeah, but not ridiculously so - still cheaper than what some folks want for a 20-round Hungy tanker these days.

Russian AKM Mags
Ordered 2, both came as expected in excellent condition. Both appear to be barely used with original finish and parts. Springs and followers work great.
